ABOUT ROXSY LEE
Roxsy Lee Wood is an Atlanta based filmmaker and the founder of Morning Wood Productions, a independent production company focusing on experimental and narrative filmmaking (no, not porn).
Her visionary world materializes through a mixed medium of motion picture film, practical effects, puppetry arts, and traditional painting.
Her portfolio includes a variety of personal projects, collaborative promotional work, and acrylic paintings.
Roxsy Lee’s personal work creates ambiguous worlds inhabited by anamorphic beings, mystical folklore, and surreal atmospheres. Her work invites a sense of eerie escape, where childish wonder and imagination become estranged with dark edges through the juxtaposition of beauty and horror. Roxsy uses fantasy and fairytale as a space to reimagine classic narratives, breaking down conventional expectations of the genre, and reshaping them through a contemporary lens.
Roxannes digital videography works is particularly interested in the eye of the artist. From painters, illustrators, filmmakers, music artists, and galleries. Her aim is to highlight the art world of Atlanta, and the community that keeps it flourishing.
She has worked with a variety of artists, businesses, and filmmakers such as Binders Art Supplies, Heather Tazza, Patrick Smith, Xenofauna, 404 Found, and more...
